Corporate Volunteers Program
Caring adults provide one hour a week to kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade students who could benefit from extra reading time that encourages a love for reading, while helping to improve upon their grade level success. Volunteers and schools determine the day of the week most convenient to theirs/the students' schedule, typically setting volunteer visits between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. (Volunteers can set their hour as early as 9:00 am, but not later than 1:00 pm). This program is held during the school/work day and runs from October through the end of April/early May. (Volunteer applicants are primarily needed starting in the Fall, but can also begin participating later in the program year, depending on the individual school site's placement needs).
Materials and training are provided at each of the school sites that comprise the program: Ashley, Bolton, Diggs-Latham, Easton, Forest Park, Hall-Woodward, Ibraham, Kimberley Park, Konnoak, Mineral Springs, North Hills, Old Town, Petree, South Fork and Speas.
