Fall Environmental Marketing and Events Internship
We’re looking for a motivated, self-directed intern to help expand PEA's digital marketing, including social media and email. The internship is ideal for someone interested in digital marketing, community engagement, project management, and/or graphic design.
The internship has a flexible schedule (10-20 hours a week).
Timeline: August 2018 - December 2018
Who We Are: Piedmont Environmental Alliance (PEA) is a local non-profit focused on education and empowerment, building community, and inspiring action to create a more environmentally sustainable region.
Our education programs inspire learners of all ages to become citizen environmentalists, with the tools and knowledge to make sustainable lifestyle choices and champion environmental issues with their families, schools, and community. We organize events that educate, inspire pro-environmental action, build community, and provide engagement opportunities for people of all ages. Our Earth Day Fair is THE event for celebrating sustainability and green living in the region, with great food and music, activities for adults and kids, and wonderful exhibitors and sponsors. And, we're currently expanding our impact by partnering with organizations, corporations, individuals, and communities across the region to influence policy and practice on environmental issues.
Write and publish compelling web and email content, including blog posts, email newsletters and email campaigns.
Update the PEA website with content, including the calendar of local environmental events.
Conduct social media outreach on Facebook, Instgram, and Twitter.
Support outreach and planning for fall events.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with and interest in digital marketing.
Computer, social media, and internet savvy.
Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivated, and attentive to details.
Comfortable talking to new people at community events.
Demonstrated commitment to environmental and social issues a plus!
