Facilitator for Restorative Conferencing

Triad Restorative Justice is looking for individuals to facilitate restorative conferences in response to incidents of crime and wrongdoing. Volunteers will be fully trained by Triad Restorative Justice and work in pairs as co-facilitators in a process that addresses the harm caused by the incident, gives a voice to those impacted by the harm and holds the offender accountable to repair that harm. This is a new program that is developing to provide options in our community to handle confilct outside of the traditional court system. We will be building connections with the juvenile court system, local schools, and neighborhoods for referrals. Training for volunteers will be held on Fri Oct. 12, 3pm-9pm and Sat Oct. 13, 9am-4pm, and potential facilitators must attend both days. Volunteers can expect to facilitate about one case per month and scheduling is flexible. Send inquiry for more information. Application with references and background check will be included in the process, but having a previous record does not disqualify someone from service.
